PAWC Application Process to be a member of the UK TEAM
Competitors who have a mobility issue or have a lessened level of mobility due to another condition may be accepted to join the UK Team after submitting an application form.
The application form must detail all your mobility issues when comparing yourself to a top handler with no disabilities. You should detail if you can run, if you can maintain running speed for 2 mins, if you have any issues with accelerating speed, problems with turning etc. The application form then needs to be signed and stamped by a healthcare professional. Some of those applying to join the team in 2026 have encountered some issues with doctors surgeries refusing to complete their tiny bit on the form so another healthcare professional can be asked as long as they have an official stamp – like your NHS physiotherapist or consultant etc. Please however be warned that many of the surgeries if they are willing to complete the form are only doing so in return for a monetary payment.
If for any reason your healthcare professional refuses to complete your form, please advise the UK Team Leader (Linda) who will do all she can to assist in the process.
Once the form has been completed, it should be sent to the UK Team Leader along with 3 videos (in MP4 format) taken in a competition (show) environment & should NOT be from a training session.
The Team Leader then logs and checks your application and forwards onto the nominated people on the IMCA & PAWC Board who will then fully review the conditions and movement issues detailed and observe the handler’s movement in the videos. The Team Leader will then get a notification to advise if the application has been accepted or not and what PAWC Group they have been appointed to compete in.
Please remember the board members also hold down full time jobs, and trying to arrange board members availability for zoom meetings with people in various different countries can take some time to get answers back.
Should you have any queries about the application process, please contact the UK Team Leader on the email of info@ukimca-pawc.co.uk
